Questions
Is cyber security mandatory for yachts?
Yachts operated under the ISM Code must address cyber risks in their safety management system since 2021 (IMO MSC.428(98)). For new builds contracted from 1 July 2024 that fall within their scope, class applies IACS UR E26 and E27. Private yachts outside these rules face the same threats — and insurers increasingly ask.
Will you work on the bridge or engine systems?
No. Navigation, propulsion and safety systems stay with the yard, the makers and your ETO. We make sure they are isolated from guest and crew IT and that remote access to them is controlled.
Can you work with our management company and ETO?
Yes — that is the normal case. We deliver the survey, the design and the documentation; your ETO and integrator keep running the systems day to day.
