Families & family offices
The easiest way into a fortune is through the family.
Attackers rarely break through a bank's defences. They go for a child's phone, an assistant's inbox or a forged invoice sent to the family office. We protect the people around the assets — discreetly, and without changing how anyone lives.
Book a confidential briefingThe problem
Invoice and payment fraud
A spoofed e-mail from the captain, the architect or the yard with new bank details. One transfer, and the money is gone.
Public by accident
Addresses, routines, yacht names and travel plans pieced together from social media, public registers and photos.
Unmanaged devices
Private phones, shared iPads and old laptops with access to e-mail, cloud storage and banking.
Our approach
How we protect a family
- Device hardening for principals, family and close staff
- Passkeys, a password manager and multi-factor for every critical account
- Call-back procedure for every change of bank details
- Privacy check: what is public about you and your assets — and how to reduce it
- Social media and live-location rules for family, guests and crew
- Travel briefings and an annual refresher
Questions
How is this different from our corporate IT security?
Corporate IT protects the company. Leeward Private protects the people: their own devices, private accounts, homes, yachts and travel — the gaps between corporate IT and private life.
Do family members have to change how they use their phones?
Very little. We secure devices and accounts in the background and agree a few simple rules — such as no live locations and a call-back before any payment change.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. NDA before the first conversation, client names are never published, and data stays in the EU.
